World Communion Sunday is the first Sunday of October and has become a time when Christians in every culture break bread and pour the cup to remember and affirm Christ as the Head of the Church. Today all Christians remember that they are part of the whole body of believers. We hope that this World Communion Sunday will be a time to remember our wider community of faith and our partnership as stewards of the earth and neighbors to people in other countries.

Join us in the Sanctuary following worship for a sermon discussion led by Pastor Tom Brown as we dive into two challenging scriptures: Jonah 3:10 - 4:11 and Matthew 20:1 -16. A new group is starting at PCCT on October 22nd for Mah Jongg players. We will be playing every other Thursday afternoon from 2-4 pm at the church. We will be starting with three tables and can expand if needed. You will need to bring your National Mah Jongg League, Inc. 2026 card. It would also be helpful to have additional sets of Mah Jongg tiles. We will be using Sign Up Genius to make sure we have enough players for each date. Initially, we can accommodate players with at least some knowledge of Mahjong as we are
not a teaching group. For those who are just learning and need extra help playing, we hope to be able to find someone to teach in the spring. (In the mean time, consider taking lessons at the Adult School of the Chathams, Madison and Florham Park!) Coordinators: Deb Ahsler, Pat Frank and Patti Montefusco.

PCCT will be sponsoring a meal packaging event hosted by The Outreach Program! Our congregation will be packaging 10,000 meals that will be donated to local partners and organizations that serve food insecure families in New Jersey.
Meal packaging events are fun and easy for all ages, and our event will require help fromthe entire congregation! We need volunteers to set up the event, many volunteers to package meals on 10/24 from 10-12, and we need donations from the PCCT family to
purchase the ingredients for 10,000 meals. Keep an eye out for more information on how your family can volunteer and donate to this special event in the Sunday bulletin and the weekly e-blast! Gratitude and Mindfulness: A Path to Enhanced Well-being

Sunday, October 25

11:15 am, Halldorson Hall

In this one-hour workshop, Cara Maksimow, LCSW, a local clinical therapist, will guide us through the transformative power of practicing gratitude and mindfulness. Cara employs mindfulness-based, trauma-informed positive psychology to help individuals manage anxiety, stress, and emotional health challenges. This workshop delves into the art of gratitude, exploring its significance and the profound impact it can have on our overall well-being. We’ll uncover the mechanisms behind gratitude’s healing benefits, delving into the interplay between mindfulness, self-compassion, and neuroplasticity. Through gratitude practice and mindfulness, we’ll unlock the potential for personal growth and resilience.

Individuals and families considering church membership, and anyone interested in learning more about our congregation are invited to attend this brief informational session with Pastor Tom and members of our Welcoming Committee. Alternative arrangements can be made for anyone unable to attend. New members will be recognized in worship and during a reception following the service on Sunday, November 1. Please speak with Pastor Tom to indicate your interest.
