Help us celebrate the accomplishments of this year’s Confirmation Class as they take their vows and become full adult members of the church. Each Confirmand has worked hard and dedicated themselves to fulfilling the requirements of the program: bi-monthly meetings, regular worship attendance, three retreats, including one overnighter at Camp Johnsonburg in the fall, ten service hours and eight worship journal entries. Students have wrestled with deeply spiritual questions and worked hard at finding a way to articulate their faith in a meaningful way.
Confirmation is an act of the whole church. When the students come forward in worship and kneel to receive the laying on of hands, we get to see and give witness to the passing on of faith from one generation to the next. It is a fulfillment of the promises we made to these young people when they were just babies: that we would support them and their parents as they grew in the faith, that one day they might claim it for themselves. Please keep these young people in your prayers as they work on their final assignments, which includes writing a personal statement of faith.
