Dear Members and Friends of PCCT,

The health and safety of our members, staff, and community groups is always our primary concern. Preventing community spread of this virus is a responsibility we all share. While it is not ideal, these unique circumstances require that we make the wellbeing of everyone engaged in PCCT our first priority.

We are therefore following the direction of leaders in the health community, and will be practicing social distancing with the following actions. We will monitor events as they unfold, and will continue to provide updates.

Effective noon on Sunday, March 15, we will be closing the physical building for ALL use. The building will remain closed through at least Sunday, March 29. All on-site events during this time period are canceled, including our Wednesday Lenten activities. The Youth Mission Trip Fundraiser will be rescheduled. Committees are encouraged to meet virtually and will be offered tools to do so. Even if you have a key, we ask that you not enter the building for the next two weeks as the building will be sanitized during this time.

Although Pastors will not be onsite, they will continue to provide spiritual care and emotional support. They can always be reached via email, phone, or text message. Although we are shutting down the building, we are not shutting down our ministry to you.

Staff will continue to work from home so that our ministry can continue. Messages left on the main church office phone line (973-635-2340) will be automatically electronically forwarded and responded to in a timely manner.

This Sunday, March 15th, we will be holding a modified prayer service at 10 a.m. in the sanctuary. Church school for all ages, including nursery care, is canceled. Faith Forward is postponed, and fellowship time is canceled. Best health practices at the service will include:
• Every other pew will be roped off to adhere to the CDC’s recommendation of maintaining a distance of six feet from people.
• Hand sanitizer and Purell wipes will be available in the narthex.
• The door handles will be wiped with sanitizer prior to service, and the ushers will serve as door monitors to keep folks from having to touch door handles or doors.
• Rather than passing the offering plate, they will be available at the end of the service.

We recognize that individuals who the CDC identifies as most vulnerable may need to refrain from in-person group gatherings. We trust that you will make the decision that feels right for you.

To that end, we will be providing the option for you to join us virtually. The worship service on Sunday, March 15th will be livestreamed on Facebook and a video will be posted after the service on Facebook and YouTube.

During the time the building is closed, let us stay connected with and support one another as a congregation.

Rest assured the work of the church is continuing and we appreciate your continued financial contributions to help make that possible. We recognize that giving in person is not an option, and so we welcome your mailed or online donations. We thank you for continuing to support the work of PCCT.

Finally, as we all are going through unchartered territory, we invite you to help us find new, creative ways to connect with and support one another as a congregation.

Grace and Peace,
The Staff of PCCT on behalf of the Session
