The Director of Music Search Committee is pleased to announce the appointment of Deborah Simpkin King, Ph.D., as our new Director of Music. In her role, Deborah will be responsible for interacting with all musical programming, planning music for worship services, serving as organist and choir director, and working alongside Janice to build the music ministry program at the church. She will begin her position at PCCT on July 1.
“After reviewing, interviewing and auditioning numerous candidates over the past year, the Search Committee is very pleased to have found Deborah,” said Ellen Dinneen, Chair of the Director of Music Search Committee. “We are confident that our music ministry, together with Janice, will continue to strengthen and grow under Deborah’s skilled and experienced leadership. Deborah is a consummate professional and a very nice person who will fit in nicely at PCCT.”
Dr. King brings with her over 25 years of experience as a conductor, building and leading choral ensembles and music programs for ecclesiastic, academic and other non-profit organizations. Deborah most recently served as the Interim Music Director of Crescent Avenue Presbyterian Church in Plainfield, NJ, Artistic Director of Crescent Concerts, and conductor of the Crescent Choral Society and Crescent Singers.
