Over the years, a variety of experiential worship services have been observed on Maundy Thursday.
Recently, we have offered “Journey to Jerusalem,” which reenacts key events in Jesus’ final days, culminating with the Last Supper at which we take communion together. This is an experience for the entire family.
Following the Maundy Thursday service through the evening of Good Friday, members of the church hold a continuous Prayer Vigil. Alone in the sanctuary, the Prayer Vigil invites one to experience God’s presence, to find a quiet space to reflect, and to keep watch along with others during Jesus’ last hours of life.
Tenebrae Service on Good Friday
The Tenebrae Service is an evening worship service on Good Friday that marks the conclusion of the prayer vigil and the approaching darkness of Jesus’ death.
Easter services are at 9:15 am and 11:00 am. (Note these times are different than our regular worship times.) Please join us as we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ through glorious music, scriptures and sermon.
For Children (at both services): 6th-8th Graders remain in worship with their families, Children in K-5th Grade start in worship and when indicated, are invited to a special children’s program in Halldorson Hall. Infants, toddlers and Preschool children can be dropped off in their classrooms before worship begins.
The annual Easter Egg Hunt is held on the front lawn directly following the 11:00 am service (weather permitting).
