WEEKEND of SERVICE
September 21-22, 2019
Please see the opportunities below for the PCCT community to participate in a hands-on opportunity for service! We hope to see you at one or more of these events!
Community FoodBank – Saturday, Sept. 21, 9 – 11:00 am
Open to volunteers 12 and older. Sort or repackage food for distribution to hungry people throughout northern NJ. Meet in the PCCT parking lot at 8:15 am to carpool, or meet us at the Food Bank (31 Evans Terminal Rd., Hillside) at 8:50 am. Return home by 11:30 am with most of the day ahead of you and the knowledge that you have done something to make a difference. Sign-up HERE by Tues., Sept. 17.
Hygiene Kits for Haiti and Sustainable Lunches for Bridges – Sunday, Sept. 22, 11:00 – 11:45 am
Low impact, at PCCT, suitable for all ages. Join us in Mulford Hall immediately following worship as we pack 200 sustainable lunches for Bridges and assemble 100 hygiene kits for our mission team to take to Haiti. We hope to provide a rewarding and fun service opportunity for interested individuals and families. Sign up HERE to bring items for Bridges; a freewill offering will help offset the cost of hygiene kits.
America’s Grow-A-Row – Sunday, Sept. 22, 12 pm – 2 pm
Join us “down on the farm” as we help harvest produce for distribution to free farm markets and area food banks. Plan to depart from PCCT after church to arrive at one of AGAR’s Clinton area farms by 12 pm. Bring a sack lunch, change of clothes (or wear your work clothes to worship), water bottle—cold water provided, sun screen, and gardening gloves. We suggest you wear comfortable clothes/shoes. Be sure to sign up HERE so we can share location and carpool information with all participants.
