Welcome to PCCT Prays Together
The busyness of the holidays has ended and it is Winter. Winter is a time of rest and restoration as the tree roots and bulbs prepare for the dawn of a new Spring. As we slow down and get quiet, we can hear the call to reflect, to listen – for our own sakes and for the sake of the world around of us. To help us listen we will learn the technique of Sacred Reading (Lectio Divina) and practice this using prayer, scripture, and poetry. Please join us as we take the time to hear God whispering words of love, healing and comfort in our hearts.
Prayer is an important part of our life at PCCT and particularly in these uncertain times, we need prayer to help us feel heard, comforted, supported, encouraged, and inspired. During Worship in Prayers of the People, we raise up our concerns and pray as a community. On Fridays, we continue praying as a community by praying individually anywhere and anytime, knowing that others at PCCT are praying with us for the world and for each other. On Thursdays, an e-blast reminds us that the next day is Friday and contains a link to our portion of the website that is filled with suggestions to get us started. We hope that prayer may find a special place in your daily life and that you will join us in prayer on Fridays.
The material given above is designed to support you in your prayer life. The first 4 sections are usually centered around a given theme with an ending prayer practice and gently encourage going deeper into your relationship with God and yourself. The Friday prayers offer more ways to be with God as we pray in community wherever we are. The materials offered below contain present and past selections and are printable should you want hard copy. Hopefully, these suggestions will lead to introspection, comfort, peace, and a closer relationship with God.
